Data Less Regression

The first time I read “Dilbert Principle”, I was in third year engineering. I refused to believe that anything/anyone could be so idiotic. I was naïve. The next time I read it was after I started working. I soon started swearing by the book. But still, there were instances stating dumb bosses which I felt were grossly exaggerated. No Longer!!!

The other day a person here and I were having lunch.

The person here: You better start working on the<***> project too. Start doing the regression.
Me: Can’t. I don’t have the data yet.
The person here: Why don’t you have the data?
Me: <*****> said that you guys would send the survey to the client. Have you sent it?
The person here: No
Me: That’s why I don’t have the data.
The person here: Oh it’s ok then. We’ll send the survey later. Meanwhile you start off on the regression.
Me: I can’t! I don’t have the data.
The person here: But why do you need data to do regression?

And the person has supposedly done an MBA from a reputed college!!
